Welcome to Arbitrary Pictures, a personal portal into the fascinating world of travel. My name is Tosi; I play the piano, bass guitar, do research in and teach computer engineering, and derive an inordinate amount of joy from traveling. This diary is called “Arbitrary Pictures” as a homage to the spontaneous, unscripted, vibrant, and unforgettable experiences that often grace our travels. These experiences–places I’ve visited, people I’ve met, foods I’ve eaten–have not only enlivened my travels but also immeasurably enrich my life, and I have learned to celebrate the beauty of these unexpected moments.

My first solo journey was at the age of 18 when I traveled from Nigeria to Kuwait. That journey was a whirlwind of experiences – from dealing with delayed and missed flights, handling lost luggage, to spending more than 12 hours in the Dubai airport without lounge access (or knowing that lounges even existed). Despite these challenges, it sparked an indomitable desire within me to explore, to step out of my comfort zone and experience the diverse cultures, cuisines, and landscapes that our world has to offer. Arbitrary Pictures is an extension of that desire, serving as a visual diary of my travels.

Through Arbitrary Pictures, I aim to offer you a vicarious experience of my adventures and thoughts about travel, captured in a straight-to-the-point, easy-to-read format. Each story, each photograph, each video is a part of my journey, mirroring the reality of travel - the good, the bad, and everything in between. It is my hope that my experiences can provide you with insights and ideas for your own adventures. Whether you’re an aspiring traveler, someone planning your next big trip, or a seasoned traveler, I invite you to join me on this exciting journey as we traverse the world one destination at a time, through my unique lens and narrative.
